Job Summary Coordinate clinical learning lab facilities and services in the nursing program.
**Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a short (approximately 15 minutes) teaching demonstration on the topic to be determined prior to the interview.
12month faculty contract covers the entire academic calendar year from July to June. Faculty members on 12month contracts receive a consistent monthly salary. Benefits are provided yearround. Renewal of the contract depends on factors such as student enrollment and available funding. |
Job Duties: - Oversee the skills laboratory in the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
- Responsible for delivery of content material in the skills lab equivalent to lecture material each semester in multiple courses.
- Coordinate operational activities and services of the lab including scheduling lab set up and managing lab equipment and supplies.
- Oversee ordering of supplies necessary for student success in the skills lab component of multiple courses.
- Contribute as an active member in team teaching by providing assistance to faculty and students in the clinical lab setting.
- Promote safe lab practices.
- Implement simulation activities.
- Comply with SAC accreditation requirements.
- Establish and update laboratory policies and procedures.
- Maintain laboratory records as necessary.
- Participate in instructional presentation and delivery; the planning and designing of instructional programs; instructional evaluation and assessment; student advising professional development; and service to the department division and College.
- Assume a participative role in supporting and promoting the mission goals and objectives of the College by performing the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the leadership of the department division and College.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Need or will need to become Sims certified within the first year of contract.

Minimum Qualifications: - Documented minimum of three years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five years.
- Current active unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky.
- To satisfy the requirements of area clinical facilities the successful candidate will be required to submit to a drug screen.
- BSN (pursuing a MSN within 5 years.
- MedicalSurgical or critical care nursing experience required
- Must be able to work in a standard office and lab environment.
- Must be able to sit stand walk bend reach kneel and stoop.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.

- Significant teaching experience particularly at the college level
- Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement
- Experience working with and understanding students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in academic advising and supporting student success
- Previous experience in a community college setting
