Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the ADCS Office of Licensing and Regulation (OLR) Child Welfare Licensing Manager this position is responsible for managing a unit dedicated to investigating licensing issues of Child Welfare Agencies statewide. This position implements a model of management that engages staff promotes internal and external collaboration and retains a knowledgeable and committed team. This position hires orients and trains staff in alignment with the agency mission values and philosophy. Supports and promotes the Arizona Management System assesses staffs performance provides coaching support and mentoring and is responsible for understanding licensing rule and the various functions of OLR.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Ensure units adherence to policies and procedures of OLR while working to support a variety of external and internal stakeholders. Respond to email and phone communications agency inquiries and conduct outreach. Staff Child Welfare Agency issues and assist in determining outcomes to ensure safety of children in out of home care that could result in an adverse action being taken by OLR.
  • Implement agency strategic initiatives and goals Support management in the planning organization and implementation of functions to ensure all work is performed in accordance with all applicable federal and state statutes administrative rules agency policies and procedures and within statutory time frames.
  • Reviews and evaluates employee performance and promotes quality assurance within their unit to ensure unit is within compliance. Mentor direct reports and ensures staff have the tools to be successful in their job functions. Coordinate develop and identify training to staff and provide technical assistance to various levels of stakeholders and staff.
  • Supports and promotes the Arizona Management System; Gathers reviews analyzes and interprets data evaluates and identifies trends creates countermeasures and evaluates overall performance of the unit.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelors or Masters degree in social work business or public administration a social or behavioral science or other acceptable field
Management experience. At least 3 years of child welfare experience; 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

PreEmployment Requirements:

The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply:Drivers License Requirements.
