Job Description Summary
The instructor is responsible for the coordination planning preparation presentation and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day evening or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include facetoface hybrid online and remote. Facetoface and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince Georges Community College campus. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development academic advising curriculum design.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree or equivalent certification and accreditation from recognized college university or national state or regional organization. Degrees are applicable only if earned at accredited institutions and verified with official transcripts. Pertinent professional experience may be substituted for the masters degree at the discretion of the Vice President. AREA SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Information provided based on the area discipline discipline specific credentials and/or education are listed here. Masters or Terminal Degree in related discipline. The degree may be in French French language acquisition or linguistics or the literatures/ cultures/ or area studies of the Frenchspeaking world including France Africa and/or the Americas. Native or nearnative fluency in French. Specialized doctoral degree (J.D. M.D. M.F.A. etc. are applicable to doctoral placement only for teaching assignments directly relevant to the degree; otherwise such degrees are equated to the masters degree for placement. Professional certification and/or state license for area of expertise KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES Mastery of course content Ability to provide service to diverse populations using a studentcentered approach Ability to communicate effectively with students faculty and staff Ability to plan deliver and assess effective instruction Ability to teach in face to face remote and online modalities as needed Ability to effectively use instructional technology (Internet instructional software learning management system videoconferencing etc.. Critical thinking organization and conflict management skills Research skills (where appropriate) Time management planning and organizational skills Ability to work as part of a team Problemsolving and analytical ability Ability to teach in nontraditional formats (online remote hybrid) and settings (offcampus weekends evenings and accelerated).
