The Registered Nurse/midwife is a member of the multidisciplinary health care team and uses contemporary standards and evidence to underpin practice. Being part of a multidisciplinary team staff members will provide high quality nursing care for all patients.

This position will provide a high quality and effective service of assessment support advice and referral to enhance health safety and wellbeing through involvement with pregnant and postnatal women as well as other Acute unit patients.

Qualification:

Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA).

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Clinical knowledge and skills related to midwifery
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment of change and continuous improvement
  • Experience working independently
  • Computer skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively
  • To have previous experience as a Registered Nurse/midwife either in a generalist setting or that of a specialty.

Desirable:

  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Minimum two years experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in quality improvement activities
  • Clinical knowledge and skills related to acute services
