Job Description

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON

ADULT CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE (achd) Faculty Position

The Division of Cardiology Department of Medicine University of Washington School of Medicine and UW Heart Institute is recruiting a fulltime Assistant Associate or full Professor (without tenure by reason of funding) Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) cardiologist to join the ACHD service at the University of Washington Medical Center. Assistant Professors WOTareeligible for multiyearappointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Associate and ProfessorWOTholdindefiniteappointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience qualifications and academic rank. The anticipated start date is July 1 2025.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings focused on patients with congenital heart disease. Teaching will include bedside teaching in the inpatient setting and outpatient clinic and didactic lectures to Cardiology fellows and ACHD fellows. Clinical responsibilities would include ACHD clinic inpatient ACHD consults and regional outreach clinics. Additional clinical responsibilities such as ACHD echocardiography cardiopulmonary exercise testing cardioobstetrics to be determined based on the candidates training and interests.

The base salary range for this position will be $16250$41667 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS) and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching scholarship and service.



Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent) and adult congenital heart disease (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. The applicant should possess strong clinical skills in the management of ACHD patients. Candidates should havea demonstrated record of research and publication. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonUS) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
