You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position provides oversight guidance and management of the department audit functions through subordinate team members. Manages through subordinate supervisors a staff of professional auditors. Provides oversight and management of the full spectrum of audit functions. Oversees and/or develops audit scopes programs and objectives procedures and deliverables. Oversees and prepares outlines drafts reports and submission of reports. Recommends and advises management regarding changes in business processes information systems and accounting or management procedures. Reviews and identifies changes in professional standards pronouncements and federal audit requirements and notifies management and audit staff. Acts as liaison with outside
auditors and law enforcement agencies.
Manages an audit unit through subordinate auditors. Meets with external partners and stakeholders managers supervisors and staff to discuss audit functions regarding operational financial and personnel policies.
Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments setting priorities hiring discipline providing training approving leave requests and preparing evaluations).
Develops the annual Audit Plan Risk Assessment CER review audit scopes programs and objectives procedures and deliverables. Oversees and reviews outlines drafts reports and submission of reports.
Recommends and advises agency management regarding changes in business processes information systems federal guidance and accounting or management procedures.
Reviews and identifies changes in professional standards pronouncements and federal audit requirements and notifies management and audit staff.
May provide audit guidance during HEOC activation. Manages the review of supporting documentation and appropriateness of support and contracts related to an emergency and advices on best practices.
Knowledge of:
Managerial practices and supervisory techniques.
Auditing methods and systems of generally accepted auditing standards risk assessments contract and fiscal management.
Applying and interpreting federal and state laws rules and regulations including
Arizona Revised Statutes.
Organizational and administrative procedures and policies and procedures established for the work system.
Performance Management (PM) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.

Bachelors degree in accounting or closely related field with 5 years exp. as a supervisor or manager of Auditors or closely related field. Preference is given to applicants with Public Health experience. Prefer Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Certified Public Accountant (CPA);
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP).
Drivers License.
