Role Overview
The Jr. Design Associate supports Senior Design Engineers in developing AV solutions creating technical documentation and coordinating design efforts. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in AV system design video conferencing and integration workflows. While this role does not involve CAD drafting it requires preparing technical documentation that supports the CAD team.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Assist Senior Designers in developing AV solutions based on client requirements.
- Prepare scopes of work (SOW) and bills of materials (BOM) based on project needs.
- Create design documentation including schematics elevations and facility scope of work.
- Work with the CAD team by providing accurate design inputs and reviewing drafts for quality assurance.
Collaboration & Project
- Receive project details from Senior Designers and translate them into design documentation.
- Participate in internal design reviews to refine solutions.
- Act as the first line of support (L1 for technicians during implementation.
- Escalate technical challenges to Senior Designers (L2 for resolution.
Learning & Growth
- Develop expertise in AV technologies video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams Zoom Webex) and system integration best practices.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
- Work closely with Sales Operations and Senior Designers to understand the full project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Please note you must be eligible to work in Canada to be considered for this role.
- Strong interest in AV technology IT or system integration.
- Education or experience in AV IT engineering or a related field (college diploma university degree or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of AV system components (displays audio control systems video conferencing).
- Organizational skills and attention to detail in technical documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with AVIXA CTS concepts or interest in certification.
- Experience with Crestron Biamp QSC Cisco or Extron technologies.
- Basic networking knowledge related to AV integration.
