Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Data Centers to join our growing team. The job incumbent will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining electrical systems in largescale data centers.

The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability efficiency and safety of our data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience working with highdensity data centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement electrical systems for hyperscale data centers including medium and lowvoltage power distribution backup power systems and emergency systems
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics bills of materials and installation drawings
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards codes and regulations including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications design criteria and project budgets
  • Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues including load balancing capacity planning and power consumption optimization
  • Monitor and maintain the electrical systems including performing preventative maintenance testing and repairs
  • Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and training programs for technicians and other staff
  • Stay uptodate with advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus eight 8 years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering with a focus on data center infrastructure or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education. 
  • Registered Professional Engineer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data Center Design and Construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design power distribution systems and backup power systems
  • Experience with highdensity data centers and hyperscale environments
  • Knowledge of industry standards codes and regulations including NEC and IEC standards
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with a crossfunctional team
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
