DEQ is actively looking for an Accountant to join our Financial Services Bureau. This position prepares and examines financial transactions related to deposits payments assets liabilities and other financial activities within the agency. This position ensures those transactions are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. In addition this position provides direction and guidance to technical support staff while also assisting with data analysis and the development of accounting procedures.

- Bachelors degree in accounting or public or business administration with accounting or financial management emphasis.
- Three 3 years of experience with accounts receivable accounts payable payroll fixed assets and general ledger entries that follow generally accepted accounting principles to facilitate accurate financial statement preparation and customer service in a governmental or nonprofit setting.
- Experience working with databases spreadsheets and the design and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
Additionally preferred:
- Considerable knowledge of State Government laws and the States budgetary process.
- Experience with the Statewide Accounting Budgeting and Human Resources System (SABHRS) and IBARS Physical and Environmental Demands:
