The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a Vocational Instructor at the Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and EducationRoosevelt located in Chicago Illinois. This position coordinates classroom instruction with workforce market experience to develop practical job skills and knowledge in students with disabilities; assembles classroom equipment and supplies and organizes training materials so that instruction follows a lesson plan or teaching outline and is thus presented systematically; develops program and student evaluative measures and reports; advises students on individual problems of shop or trade practices to develop and improve their work skills; and attends PreEmployment Preparation (PEP) staff committee meetings and work group meetings for the planning development and improvement of the overall PEP program.
Serves as Instructor and coordinates classroom instruction with workforce market experience to develop practical job skills and knowledge in students with disabilities.
Assembles classroom equipment and supplies and organizes training materials so that instruction follows a lesson plan or teaching outline and is thus presented systematically.
Develops program and student evaluative measures and reports.
Advises students on individual problems of shop or trade practices to develop and improve their work skills.
Attends PreEmployment Preparation (PEP) staff committee meetings and work group meetings for the planning development and improvement of the overall PEP program.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Requires two 2 years of practical journeyman experience in Heat Press Operations and Graphic Design.
Two 2 years of professional experience working with the practices methods tools and materials of Heat Press Operations and Graphic Design.
Two 2 years of professional experience preparing reports and evaluating training progress using suitable performance measures.
Two 2 years of professional experience coordinating occupational instruction and preparing lesson plans for transitioning aged youth with severe physical disabilities on entry and midlevel skills to develop knowledge and experience in retailing.
Three 3 years of professional experience facilitating a sequential program to develop graphic design skills.
Two 2 years of professional experience providing instruction in the specialized knowledge and skills of products and the use of a variety of printers presses cutters punchers etc. to customize products per customer requests.
Two 2 years of professional experience assembling equipment and organizing instructional materials and teaching aids needed for special education of the students.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
