Job Description

SALARY:12 per hour

HOURS: 10 hours per week Mon to Fri 3.30pm 5.30pm (Based on working 43 weeks)

LOCATION:Fairfurlong School BS13 9HS

Cleaning Operative

Purpose of the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Management division of Bristol Waste Company as a Cleaning Operative. Providing a highstandard cleaning service for our designated customers ensuring a clean and sanitary environment in various locations across Bristol.

A DBS will be required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Working to a weekly cleaning schedule;

  1. Floor Cleaning:
    • Vacuum sweep and mop floors of various types in designated areas to high standards.
    • Carpet cleaning if required
  2. Sanitisation:
    • Sanitize toilets sinks and fixtures to maintain a hygienic environment.
  3. Dusting and Polishing:
    • Perform dusting and polishing tasks to uphold cleanliness and presentation standards including high level dusting as required.
  4. Waste & Recycling Management:
    • Empty waste bins and replace bin liners.
    • Effective recycling of waste into appropriate bins in recycling area.
  5. Stock and Maintenance:
    • Stock and maintain cleaning cupboards with necessary supplies.
  6. Equipment Operation:
    • Utilize cleaning machinery effectively.
  7. Safety Compliance:
    • Comply with all safety policies and procedures related to cleaning tasks.
    • Identify and report safety equipment maintenance issues to the Team Leader.
    • Report site safety and general site maintenance issues to appropriate site contact.
  8. Task Completion:
    • Complete tasks on time with minimal supervision working to deadlines as per cleaning schedule.
    • Complete adhoc and/or reactive cleaning as requested
  9. Locationspecific Tasks:
    • Undertake additional cleaning tasks as required based on the specific location.

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • A cando attitude with the willingness to learn new skills.
  • Physically fit for walking bending etc within an industrial environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good (spoken) level of English language.
  • Strong interpersonal and problemsolving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
