Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Medical Assistants to provide services at a correctional facility in Tucson Arizona. The ideal candidates will provide services that include assisting with clinical duties patient education and administrative tasks while adhering to security protocols and ensuring compliance with established healthcare standards.

Shift schedule: MonFri 6am4:30 pm

Rate:$25/hr

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program

Valid certification to practice as a Medical Assistant in Arizona

CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Minimum of one 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (correctional healthcare experience preferred)

Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers by taking and recording patient history vital signs and scheduling appointments.

Support telehealth providers by assisting with patientside examinations.

Provide preoperative instructions and patient education on healthrelated topics.

Perform blood draws POC testing and process lab specimens.

Administer noncontrolled prepackaged prescription to inmates.

Apply and remove bandages and dressings remove sutures and perform ear lavage.

Conduct EKGs and assist with patient flow management.

Perform clerical duties including medical record filing data entry in the Electronic Medical Record system and supporting audits/reports.

Ensure compliance with all federal and institutional regulations including AAAHC and ACA standards.

Additional duties as assigned by facility.
