- The FP&A Manager will play a crucial role in underpinning the Head of FP&A and responsibilities will span across:
- Financial planning & forecasting: lead the modelling across P&L and Balance sheet for the Budget and Forecasting process
- ExCo and Board monthly financial MI reporting
- Providing commercial insight to the front office
- Creating dynamic insightful MI to the senior leadership.
- A successful candidate will present examples of true ownership of deliverables with limited oversight / support this is an essential attribute in a fastpaced lean finance function within a small Bank
- Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Support the delivery of the articulation of the modelled outputs to ExCo and Board for sign off. This includes:
- Ability to model Banking product revenue using business owned inputs which are appropriately challenged
- Have a deep understanding of the interaction of the P&L and Balance sheet for a Bank.
- The capability to translate the financials into a concise power point presentation for ExCo and Board approval
- Own the rolling forecasts to provide uptodate financial projections.
- Work collaboratively with Treasury to ensure financial planning aligns with ICAAP & ILAAP requirements
- Lead on the impairment assessment forecasts working collaboratively with the external auditors
- Management reporting
- Production owner of key reporting packs to ExCo and Board with capability to draw concise and insightful 1st line commentary for senior management consumption
- Responsible for the collation and calculation of strategic KPIs communicated to ExCo including NIM Return on Capital
- Business Partnering
- Work across functions and own the modelling of strategic business cases for onward submission to Board
- Providing adhoc commercial and analytical support to business stakeholders such as the Head of Investor Relations Front line leaders and ExCo.
- Work collaboratively with the BI team lead to enhance and automate client level MI currently communicated via Power BI
Qualifications :
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / ICAS)
Experience:
Essential requirements:
- Significant experience working in FP&A within the Banking industry
- Experience of being a meaningful contributor / lead to the Budgeting process in a Bank
- Capable to identify and explain the drivers of the P&L and Balance Sheet
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling for Banking products such as lending and deposit NII
- Deep understanding of how the balance sheet interacts with the P&L
- Are a selfmotivated individual / results driven who will pursue a task to its conclusion without the need for constant supervision
- Have a strong sense of accountability and proactive ownership of key deliverables
- Ability to work independently proactively and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Capability to illustrate good strategic thinking commercial acumen and product intuition
- A proficient user of Excel and Power Point
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Able to develop strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Take and give feedback well
- Have the appetite for proactively developing new skills and capabilities
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau (Preferred not essential)
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (Basel III/IV IFRS 9 ICAAP ILAAP).
- Experience with VENA (or similar OLAP system such as IBM Cognos)
