Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems particularly in fire alarm installation and maintenance. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and testing equipment as well as the ability to read CAD drawings. The Alarm Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all alarm systems are installed correctly functioning properly and compliant with NEC standards.
Responsibilities
- Install maintain and repair fire alarm systems and other low voltage equipment.
- Conduct thorough inspections of alarm systems to ensure they meet safety regulations and operational standards.
- Utilize voltmeters and other testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system functionality.
- Collaborate with construction teams to integrate alarm systems into new builds effectively.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on the use of their alarm systems.
- Document all work performed including inspections repairs and installations for compliance purposes.
- Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in fire alarm technology.
Experience
- Proven experience in low voltage electrical work specifically with fire alarms.
- Familiarity with CAD software for system design and layout is preferred.
- Strong understanding of NEC codes related to fire alarm systems.
- Experience in fire alarm sales is a plus but not required.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools and testing equipment for installation and troubleshooting tasks.
- Previous experience in construction inspection is advantageous.
