About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Citizenship lessons across Key Stages 35 including ALevel.
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage critical thinking debate and analysis of current affairs and political systems.
- Facilitate studentled discussions and debates fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for diverse perspectives.
- Assess student progress through presentations projects written essays and participation in mock elections and debates.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Citizenship curriculum ensuring it remains relevant and engaging.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as debating clubs and student councils to promote civic engagement.
- Collaborate with other Humanities teachers to create interdisciplinary projects and learning experiences.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Citizenship Politics Sociology or a related social science.
- Proven experience teaching Citizenship to ALevel with a focus on political literacy active participation and understanding of global issues.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to present complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- A deep commitment to promoting social justice equality and civic engagement through education.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to become active and informed citizens.
- Strong knowledge of current political and social issues both nationally and internationally.
