Description

Call Required

We are seeking a capable Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. This individual will:

  • Implement and evaluate care of pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
  • Prioritize and actively participate in procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.
  • Identify verbally or in writing unusual incidents during patient care procedures and identifies complex procedure problems related to patient reaction symptoms or changes in needs based on patient reactions.
  • Determine the equipment materials and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.
  • Keep the perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.
  • Active membership in professional organization.
  • Assist with planning and conducting department orientation of new staff and students.
  • Serve as role model or mentor for new staff and students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology strongly preferred.
  • Two years multispecialty experience with one year in CVOR specialty area. Will consider 2 years experience in complex surgical cases such as neuro orthospine vascular general (liver colon) etc.
  • Must be able to function as a clinical expert in CVOR service line and have the ability to float to other service lines as needed.
