Location: Onsite in Plano Texas

Overview: As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator you will provide physical database support for EDB AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and OpenSource PostgreSQL databases ensuring the integrity and availability of the database. You are responsible for monitoring analyzing administrating and performing tuning at the database and application levels. You will work with the respective application and business teams to finetune the databases and their application code to enhance availability performance and security. Design and implement highly available and scalable database platforms in onpremises and AWS environments. Automation plays a critical role in simplifying routine activities.

You will utilize your knowledge and experience with security backup recovery and archiving to make recommendations regarding process improvements for logical and physical data structures. You will forecast longrange requirements for database administration while documenting the database environment and support processes.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 6 years of experience in administering onprem/cloud PostgreSQL (AWS Aurora/RDS/EDB/ OpenSource PostgreSQL) databases.
• Expertise in planning designing building and implementing complex database systems.
• The candidate must have experience working in the database domain with at least Six 6 years of experience managing in of PostgreSQL DB.
• Indepth knowledge of PostgreSQL Database architecture.
• AWS cloudbased Postgres database administration experience.
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining High Availability and disaster Recovery configurations like Streaming/Multimaster Replication EFM BDR Logical replication RDS Global Database etc.
• Expertise in Database and Query Performance Monitoring and Tuning capacity planning for PostgreSQL databases and using native and 3rd party tools.
• Automation skills in Shell Scripts/Python/Ansible/Terraform(cloud) to automate routine maintenance activities.
• Experience in implementing industry best practices for consistently installing and configuring PostgreSQL for production preproduction and nonproduction environments.
• Conducted technical reviews and walkthroughs of system design documentation with development and design team members.
• Experience in designing and developing logical and physical database designs.
• Design and implement replication and backups for missioncritical/tier1 applications.

Preferred Skills:

• Certified EDB PostgreSQL DBA is preferred.
• AWS Solution Architect Certification is preferred.

Work Environment:

• Onsite in Plano Texas
