Job Description
This is an onsite role 4 days a week) based out of our Montreal office
As part of Ventions Automation team you will be responsible for developing firmware and software for the MachineMotion ecosystem . The Senior Robotics Engineer is called to work in various phases of a project from initial RD of new products to the support of existing tools and APIs. More specifically you will:
- Implement and maintain motion control firmware for robotics applications
- Integrate and Modify new motion planning solutions for Ventions robotics control suite
- Expose this functionality by extending Ventions robotics APIs and SDKs
- Work with robot manufacturers to enable seamless integration with the Vention automation ecosystem
- Implement various distributed robot services and agents software using Automation Technologies like ROS
- Program embedded devices using Python and C to extend Ventions automation ecosystem
- Test and debug firmware using HW debuggers HW schematics oscilloscope and breadboard circuits
- Assist our clients by helping them configure test and program their automated machine.
Qualifications :
- Academic background preferably Masters Degree in robot motion planning and control
- 5 years of experience working in the field of robotics
- Strong knowledge of ROS/ROS2 and MoveIt
- Programming languages (Python JavaScript C/C) on embedded Linux systems
- Understanding of TCP/IP REST and message brokers
- Understanding of distributed system design and the related technical challenges
- Understanding of control software internet technologies and Client/Server models
- Practical experience testing code and modules against common use cases
