Job Description
What You Get to Do:
A Lead Direct Support Professional is responsible for the coordination of services to the individuals served including finance medical recreation program services family contact/involvement education and household management. A Lead provides direct support positive direction instruction and assistance to individuals with mental intellectual & developmental and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
- Assist the program director with the coordination of services to the individuals served including finance medical recreation program services family contact/involvement education and household management.
- Assists the program director in maintaining consistency in program implementation individual care and communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members including the day or residential program.
- Provide handson assistance encouragement mentoring and guidance.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around getting in and out of bed dressing bathing personal hygiene and more.
- Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
- Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks games and social events.
- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
- Document progress milestones and action steps.
