Job Description

What will the role involve

You will be at the forefront of our content production and innovation. Your primary responsibility will be to source and create worldclass gaming content in both written and video formats. This content should appeal to a broad audience maintaining the highest standards of quality and engagement.

In this role you will produce highquality reviews previews and handson impressions for the latest gaming software and hardware releases. This requires not only an indepth understanding of the gaming industry but also the ability to convey insights in an engaging manner.

Your extensive network of contacts will be invaluable allowing you to break exclusive stories that captivate our audience. This role demands a proactive approach to networking and staying ahead of industry trends.

Engagement with our audience is key. You will reach them through innovative platforms including live streaming podcasts shortform video and longform video content. Your creativity in using these platforms will help expand our reach and influence.

Quality assurance is critical; every piece of content must be thoroughly researched and balanced prior to publication adhering to the Editors Code of Practice. This ensures that we maintain our reputation for credibility and reliability.

Flexibility is also important as there may be times when you are required to act up or cover other roles within the business as needed. This adaptability helps ensure smooth operations across the team.

Finally upholding Reachs policy on diversity and inclusion is essential. You are expected to ensure that our values around nondiscrimination are reflected in everything we publish.

This fulltime position operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm offering you a structured schedule to deliver your best work in creating engaging gaming content for our diverse audience.


Qualifications :

Who are we looking for

  • NCTJ or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Strong track record in telling stories accurately which engage large audiences
  • Passionate about gaming industry and culture
  • Deep knowledge of current gaming trends
  • Experience in turning written work into highquality video content as a presenter or with voiceovers
  • Sizeable contacts book
  • Strong understanding of social video platforms and what success looks like on those platforms
  • Speciality and expert knowledge in a specific genre of gaming would be preferable
  • Knowledge and passion for gaming hardware would be preferable
  • Experience working for a gamingfocused publication would be preferable
  • A sizeable social media presence would be preferable
  • Proven track record for digital storytelling
