Reporting to the SeniorAccounting Analyst the Senior Accountant performs a variety of accountingduties related to the month end and yearend closing process which includespreparation of journal transactions and supporting schedules. Provides analyses and reconciliations ofvarious general ledger accounts. The SeniorAccountant is also responsible for compiling the schedules and informationrequired in the general yearend audit and the A133 audit.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
2 30 Performs and reviews monthly analysis ofP&L activities for accuracy and reasonableness. Reconciles complex balancesheet accounts monthly and resolves any variances.
3 10 Acts as the Institutes accountingliaison to the different programs and departments responding to questions and providingsolutions as requested by department managers.
4 10 Assists in the preparation of generalaudit and A133 audit schedules and requirements of the internal and externalauditors with Institute programs departments and Partners Finance.
5 10%Perform ad hoc analyses of issues to support management inquiries for revenueand expenses all performed within time sensitive deadlines and with a highdegree of attention to detail.
6 5 Assists in preparation of financialreports as required for external reports or agencies.
7 5 Trainsand cross trains on key functions with all members of the FinanceDepartment. Support special projects asneeded. Perform other related dutiesincidental to the work described herein.

Selfmotivatedand flexible team player with Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Four to six yearsof directly related professional experience required. Experience in highereducation or Fund Accounting a strong plus.
Skills/abilities/compentencies:
a)Administrative SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; self motivated resourcefuland able to take initiative; excellent interpersonal skills including strongcustomer service orientation; ability to work effectively as member of team.
b) Technical Skills Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge ofExcel. Knowledge of PeopleSoft FinancialSystem is desirable. Knowledge ofdatabase programs such as Adaptive Planning and Datatel desirable.
