English Teacher Independent School Surrey
A prestigious Independent secondary school in Surrey seeks an exceptional English Teacher to join their thriving English department. This is a fulltime permanent position teaching across Key Stages 3 4 and potentially Key Stage 5. The school is renowned for its academic excellence small class sizes and commitment to fostering a love of literature and language.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inspiring and challenging English lessons that cultivate a deep appreciation for literature and language.
- Teach a range of literary texts from classic works to contemporary writing across prose poetry and drama.
- Develop students critical thinking analytical and creative writing skills.
- Prepare students for success in GCSE IGCSE and ALevel English examinations.
- Assess student progress rigorously and provide detailed individualized feedback.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum potentially including enrichment activities and extension opportunities.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A strong degree in English Literature English Language or a closely related field.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level ideally within the independent sector.
- A genuine passion for English language and literature and the ability to inspire that passion in students.
- Excellent communication organizational and classroom management skills.
