Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s where our founders Will and Andy travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there they began designing reworked vintage pieces and thus Motel was born.
Over 30 years and a team of 200 people later every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. Were still ambitious and independent but now were a global team we work from an operational base in Worcester a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.
The role
As a Warehouse Dispatch Supervisor your role is crucial to the success and smooth running of our warehouse operations. As an organised individual with great attention to detail youll work accurately and efficiently setting an example for others.
Were looking for someone who holds themselves to high operational standards with their work and can work in a fastpaced environment with a problemsolving attitude. Your role will play a huge part in the logistics of our daytoday operations and ultimately help us deliver a great service to our customers.
Main tasks & responsibilities
- Picking: ensure all warehouse shipments are batched using the correct shipping methods and picks are created. Sign off and investigate any nil stocks reporting significant discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager ensuring picking is performed using the fastest route
- Dispatch: Resolving any failed shipments dispatch these orders manually if necessary. Check system to ensure all orders have been processed. Any fraud checks address issues etc. are to be reported to Customer Services for assistance/approval
- Issuing staff workloads and ensuring that all tasks align with the shift managers instructions
- Supervision of warehouse personnel to ensure the smooth running of the order dispatch operation including training and performance management
- Ensure productivity levels and efficiencies in the warehouse operations are achieved
- Motivate and inspire the team by developing team spirit and potential to maximise team performance
- Maintain a high level of quality & accuracy regarding order dispatch. Ensure targets are consistently achieved
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely order fulfilment and inventory control
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
About you
We think the ideal Warehouse Dispatch Supervisor will look something like this:
- Proven experience in a warehouse/distribution environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
- Effective communication skills
- Computer literate proficient with email and spreadsheets experienced in warehouse data systems
- Demonstrable problem solving abilities and quality awareness
- Able to work within a fastpaced environment to ensure company requirements are consistently met
- Strong organization skills attention to detail and time management
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
