Sedex Consulting
Sedex Consulting established in 2021 is a growing team of nine advising both members and nonmembers. We specialise in corporate sustainability human rights due diligence and environmental responsibility working with global companies across diverse sectors. Our expertise spans sustainable sourcing supply chain traceability and climate strategy tackling issues like deforestation living wages and evolving regulations (CSRD CSDDD LkSG EPR and more).

The role
Sedex is seeking a Principal Consultant to join our team for a 12month FTC. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sustainable business and sourcing issues with a human right and/ or environmental focus with significant experience in consulting client engagement and business development. This role requires someone who oversee and mentor a team of three consultants drive business development by generating leads creating proposals and manage multiple projects effectively. You will play a crucial role in delivering tailored sustainability solutions and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to the growth of both the team and our consulting service offering.
Key responsibilities
- Client engagement and business development: Engage with existing and potential clients to identify their needs oversee proposals creation and sell Sedexs consulting services. Cultivate strong relationships with clients to drive new business ensuring high standards and satisfaction.
- Project delivery and leadership: Lead and manage multiple sustainability consulting projects ensuring that they are delivered on time within budget and to clients expectations. Proactively contribute to development of consulting service offering.
- Consulting and advisory: Provide expert advice to clients on sustainability challenges focusing on strategy supply chain transparency human rights due diligence environmental performance and compliance with ESGrelated regulations (e.g. CSRD CS3D EUDR....
- Team mentorship: Lead a team of three consultants offering mentorship support and coaching to develop their skills and ensure highquality project delivery.
- Proposal development: Oversee and input in the development of highquality proposals and work plans that align with clients sustainability goals showcasing Sedexs unique capabilities and expertise.
- Thought leadership: Represent Sedex in industry forums webinars and events sharing insights on ESG issues sustainability practices and global supply chain challenges.
- Client relationship management: Ensure longterm relationships with clients ensuring ongoing satisfaction and the successful delivery of consulting projects.
Knowledge Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Consulting experience: Proven experience in sustainability consulting with an environment and/ or human right focus including project management client engagement and delivering tailored solutions.
- Business development: Strong experience in proposal writing selling consulting services and identifying new business opportunities.
- Leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team ensuring the successful delivery of projects and fostering professional development.
- Sustainability expertise: Minimum of 57 years of experience in sustainability roles particularly in sustainable supply chains human rights environmental performance or ESG compliance.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring highquality outcomes and efficient use of resources.
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience in sustainable supply chains: Expertise in multiple aspect of HREDD.
- Data analysis and reporting: Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for clients.
- Language proficiency: Proficiency in additional languages (Spanish French or German) to support international clients.
