About the Role:
- Deliver engaging Geography lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students focusing on developing geographical skills and knowledge of diverse environments and cultures.
- Plan and deliver lessons that integrate fieldwork research and the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods including fieldwork reports presentations and written assessments providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies within the Geography department.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as geography clubs and environmental projects promoting student engagement and fostering a passion for geography.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate geographical perspectives into the wider curriculum promoting interdisciplinary learning.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Geography.
- Experience teaching Geography to Key Stage 3 and 4 students with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Proficiency in using GIS software and other geographical technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging young minds in the study of geography.
- A strong commitment to promoting environmental awareness and global citizenship.
