Job Description

ADGA is currently looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to provide the services in support of ISTAR (Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance) C2 (Command and Control) activities.

ISTAR C2 focus is the integration of all Canadian Armys sensors feeds and data within LCSS (Land Command Support System) and enabling the collection dissemination processing and preservation of ISTAR related information.

Tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Participate coordinate and run ISTAR C2 working group and meetings.
  • Coordinate with ISTAR C2 stakeholders to assist platform LCMM personnel resolve integration & training issues.
  • Maintain ISTAR C2 documentation and files.
  • Maintain all relevant technical documentation in regards to supported applications and equipment to support corporate Information Management.
  • Coordinate ISTAR C2 activities.
  • Track technical problems and solutions in using the collaborative environments to support configuration control and change management activities.
  • Provide system specialist user audits and feedback.
  • Responsible for scrummaster duties and activities for Large Solution Domain HQ Domain and Mobile Domain.
  • Conduct Engineering and support LCMM management of ISTAR C2 equipment.
  • Developing designing and maintaining test beds and test procedures; and
  • Usability and Human Computer Interaction:
    • Improve and enhance systems to satisfy users needs.
    • Enhance usability which is the measure of the quality of a users experience when interacting with a product or system by maximizing effectiveness (achieve goals with product) efficiency (time/effort required to complete tasks) and user satisfaction.
    • Work closely with software and Engineering teams to develop specialized Graphical User Interface on military embedded hardware devices or software designs for complex applications.
    • Identify and create software user interface requirements and analysis of implementation; and
    • Document the analysis design and test activities in accordance with development standards.

 


Qualifications :

  • Must have proof of an Engineering bachelors degree in software computer systems electrical or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR. (Command Control Computers and Communications) Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance.
  • Minimum of 48 months of demonstrated experience within the last 72 months in the preparation of technical documents system specifications and technical proposals in the field of Info Technology/Info Management or Engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 24 months of demonstrated experience within the 72 months in system engineering in a minimum of 3 of this assessment areas criteria below:
    • Demonstrated systems engineering work experience analyzing designing and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas: 
      •  Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment. 
      • Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment. 
      • Military ISTAR systems. 
      • Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements; and 
      • System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems. 
    • Demonstrated work experience in system integration verification and validation for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems. 
    • Demonstrated systems engineering experience working on communication and information systems (Hardware Software and Network) or Specialty engineering (Security Modeling Simulation STAR). 
    • Demonstrated work experience in system engineering within a RealTime or Distributed Systems environment. 
  • Minimum of 48 months of demonstrated experience in at least 3 assessment areas criteria:
    • Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
    • Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
    • Providing advice guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decisionmarking of senior management.
    • Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems frameworks or strategies.
    • Performing strategic operations or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.


    Additional Information :

    • Must work onsite full time.
    • A valid Secret level 2 clearance is a contract requirement. These can take time to process so priority given to candidates that already hold this level. Will also be required to get a Controlled Goods.
