Job Summary
Gonzaga University in Spokane WA seeks to fill a fulltime 12 month position in the Foley Library with a Business & Leadership Studies Librarian at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Business & Leadership Librarian serves as liaison to the School of Business Administration and the School of Leadership Studies as well as liaises with the Communication Department. This librarian will be responsible for cultivating a strong collaborative and consultative relationship with faculty students and staff through oneonone research consultations collection development and instruction for undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will bring social science data literacy and familiarity with business skillsets to students and faculty. As a member of the Foley Library faculty they will forward the librarys mission and values while actively contributing to the success of a diverse population of students. The successful candidate will hold a tenuretrack appointment in the Foley Library. If hired the candidate must be willing to relocate to the Spokane area. Essential Functions
Serves as liaison to and actively cultivates partnerships with faculty in the Schools of Business Administration and Leadership Studies. Provides research consultations to students faculty and staff. Actively supports the ongoing maintenance of a collection of resources that best fits the current needs of the Schools of Business Administration and Leadership Studies including licensed data sets. Provides in person and online information literacy instruction. Engages in professional development around best practices for collecting maintaining and sharing quantitative and qualitative data and is a resource on those practices for faculty and students from liaison area. Contributes to the creation of a culturallyresponsive equitable and inclusive environment in the library and seeks opportunities to leverage their expertise in librarianship to contribute to campus projects related to equity diversity inclusion and social justice. Keeps current on research and emerging practices related to areas of responsibility. Engaged in scholarly and professional fields related to librarianship including publications and presentations at the local state and or national levels.
Minimum Qualifications
ALA accredited MLS or MLIS or the international equivalent at the employment start date. Demonstrated commitment to issues of social justice diversity global engagement and care for/solidarity with vulnerable and marginalized communities. Demonstrated knowledge of business economic and statistical library and data sources Demonstrated evidence of inclusive equity and diversityminded practices.
