Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician Trainee performs under pharmacist supervision a variety of technical duties related to the procurement storage preparation and dispensing of according to standard procedures. Additionally Pharmacy Technician Trainees also perform multiple tasks related to collecting reconciling and entering the home medication history into the patients electronic health record prior to admission.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Licensure/ Certification
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee
Experience
Experience with use of office software computer applications and keyboarding preferred
Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Effectively reads writes speaks and understands English; possesses strong telephone verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions; able to learn technical tasks including the use of automation
- Able to apply math skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system.
- Strong criticalthinking and problemsolving skills
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a busy fast paced environment while staying organized and demonstrating attention to detail.
