Job Description
Objective
Under direction of the Maintenance Technician Supervisor performs various skilled and complex tasks in the repair and maintenance of production machinery and equipment which may include but is not limited to high speed automated assembly line equipment contact welding and press machines robotic coil winders axial and radial inserters wave soldering machines and SMT equipment. Responsible to continuously improve the equipment and machinery while demonstrating excellence in maintenance service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Monitors analyzes diagnoses and then fine tunes or repairs machine problems in conjunction with manufacturing engineering and production supervisors.
- Reads and interprets blueprints drawings wiring schematic diagrams and complex equipment manuals.
- Utilizes advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in problem assessment. Tests and evaluates equipment performance.
- Utilizes effective PLC diagnostics and programming skills.
- Assists with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs on all equipment. Works closely with production supervisors to schedule PM activities.
- Train production operators on how to perform and assist with simple PM duties.
- Assists with developing and maintaining the equipment spare parts inventory.
- May complete purchase requisitions for the purchase of spare parts.
- Investigates causes of machine problems raw materials tooling and equipment. Recommends improvements to processes and equipment to improve efficiency.
- Properly documents new procedures and machine changes or additions. Accurately completes all paperwork associated with PM and machine downtime.
- May create special fixtures or modify existing equipment with the use of surface grinders milling machines arc welder and lathes.
- Utilizes various diagnostic equipment and measuring devices such as voltmeters calipers micrometers and oscilloscopes.
- Supports and participates in the Companys management and quality system including continuous improvement efforts.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Prefer 2 years of experience in maintenance of automated assembly equipment.
- Ability to operate all production equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of electromechanical equipment operating under PLCs robotics machining pneumatics hydraulics and sensor controls.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with strong time and project management skills.
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office Word and Excel). Familiarity with computerized PM program preferred.
- Preventative maintenance experience with exposure to computer software and systems.
- Ongoing ability to compete high level mechanical diagnostic calibration setup and repair duties as required.
- Ability to read write and perform basic arithmetic functions.

Physical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job the employee consistently is required to use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit stand walk talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty 50 pounds.
