Position Overview:
The Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is seeking a Director of Development to join our team. Youll play a vital role in promoting Scouting and its positive impact on young people across the region. The Director of Development will oversee the daily operations of the development department including but not limited to: special events data management annual giving society grants and corporate/foundation relations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Chief Development Officer on overall development strategy
- Take action to meet annual fundraising goals
- Supervise Special Events Director Database Manager PartTime Grant writer
- Manage a portfolio of donors
- Oversee development operations such as direct mail/email program reporting annual giving stewardship and grants
- Engage with highlevel volunteers to implement a stronger annual giving program and growth in special events
- Track and report relationship management activity in conjunction with database manager
- Participate in organizational initiatives that will facilitate in achievement of fundraising goals
Education: Bachelors Degree Required
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years philanthropy and fundraising experience
- Supervisory experience
- Valid drivers license
Preferences:
- Proven ability to successfully build and lead a team
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook & Office Suite as well as Raisers Edge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds
- Familiarity with sales and marketing strategies grant writing and event planning.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated success in managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources and fostering longterm relationships
- Experience creating and implementing strategic plans to raise funds in a costeffective and timeefficient manner
- Ability to use data to better serve donors and engage
