Job Description
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to make use ofany and allavailable resources methods techniques and strategies to ensure curriculum enables studentsuccessin an engaged face to face environment. TheSubject Matter Expertis expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and product strategists to create a learningatmospherewhich is pedagogically sound technically supportedand innovative in nature.
SAITs Continuing Education & Professional Development department is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide guidance on courses relating to Data Analytics and Machine Learning for our new Carbon Capture Management Program! This course area will focus on developing skills in data analysis and visualization for carbon management decisionmaking utilizing tools and techniques to interpret carbon data and trends. Our ideal candidate will have related industry experience in data analytics machine learning and visualization techniques for carbon management applications. Proficiency in analyzing carbonrelated datasets predictive modeling and decision making tools is essential.
Anticipated start date: March 2025
Anticipated end date: End of March 2025
The Role
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership for the new face to face courses.
- Work collaboratively with a Product Strategist and Instructional Designers to create specific deliverables
- Have availability for meetings during regular business hours
- Meet all agreed upon deadlines
- Be responsive with communication within a day
As a Subject Matter Expert you will:
Qualifications
- Post secondary diploma in a related field with a focus on database management
- 35 years of experience in data management data analytics data science or a related role
- Proficiency in analyzing carbonrelated datasets predictive modeling and decision making tools
- Experience with industry software and using AIdriven insights into carbon capture management practices
- Experience performing coding in Python and R;
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Queries Design & Implementation
- Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
- Comfortable speaking to the public
- Positive & respectful attitude
- Ability to read interpret and deliver specific curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize and present written information
- Previous experience with curriculum development or instructional design projects
- Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Experience with videoconferencingtechnology (MS Teams WebX Skype or Zoom)
- Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
- Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
- Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching considered an asset
- Formal training in online technologies considered an asset
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and works well collaborating with teams
- Ability to hit the ground running
- Positive & respectful attitude
- Ability to organize and present written information
- Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
