Visual Arts/Ceramics Teacher

Tower Hill School is seeking a Visual Arts Teacher to begin in August 2025. The successful candidate will support our vibrant arts program and our community in an engaging and meaningful way in line with the mission and goals of Tower Hill School. This position will include teaching Middle School Art classes Upper School Ceramics and managing our Ceramics Studio. This is a fulltime benefitted 10month position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach comprehensive Art classes in the Middle School
  • Teach Ceramics in the Upper School
  • Serve as an advisor for up to 10 students in the Middle School
  • Promote the arts in school including curating displays of completed work
  • Manage and equip the Ceramics studio
  • Assist with student supervision for on and offcampus programming
  • Participate in faculty meetings and collaborations

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience and demonstrated interest in teaching Ceramics and Middle School Art
  • Bachelors degree or MFA in Visual Arts Education or related field
  • Ability to manage and oversee an active ceramics studio
  • Sensitivity to the developmental stages and wellbeing of students
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and nonverbal
  • Commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of students
  • Enthusiasm for professional growth academic excellence and creative teaching
  • Ability to plan and organize educational content
  • Commitment to broad participation in school life
  • Experience in and commitment to the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community
  • Ability to safely lift and move moderately heavy objects frequently
