Who are we looking for
Our Rail and Transit group located in our GTA Offices is looking for a Senior Tunnel Inspector to perform inspection duties underground tunnelling projects.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Working safely in conformance with GHDs BehaviourBased Safety culture and in conformance with all safety requirements of the railway
- Completing daytoday inspections of tunnel construction including in accordance with client terms of reference and manuals
- Daily completion of project records / diary entries
- Monitoring contractor work for compliance with contract specifications
- Monitoring contractor work for compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation
- Taking action in consultation with Construction Manager and in accordance with contract requirements when nonconformances are observed
- Making recommendations / proposing solutions for emerging project issues
- Working nights weekends extended shifts
- Working overtime hours as necessary
- Other duties as may be assigned
What you will bring to the team:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection of TBM tunneling with precast concrete segmental lining
- OACETT rcsi designation or PEO EIT designation considered an asset
- Sound judgment and decisiveness; strong organizational administrative observational and problemsolving skills;
- Effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Team player cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge
- MTO Class G drivers license in good standing and access to a vehicle
