Job Description
HPWT Custodial Worker II
Cleans and maintains on a daily basis all halls offices shops classrooms restrooms conference rooms labs gym areas locker rooms elevators which includes sweeping dusting dustmopping wetmopping spotmopping reconditioning of floors and spot washing and cleaning of walls doors and partitions.
Performs minor repair work on furniture fixtures floors plumbing etc. Assists skilled trades employees by performing tasks including but not limited to preparation of job site changing belts filters lights and ceiling tiles. Completes light plumbing work to include but not limited to opening clogged drains repairing leaky fixtures as well as cleanup of water leaks and spills.
Cleans and maintains all floors and floor coverings which includes regular duties such as vacuuming shampooing stripping sealing and waxing.
Cleans all entrances entrances walks steps and concourses
Spot cleans and cleans all exterior and interior glass surfaces of all assigned buildings; cleans ceiling lights and blinds.
Empties and cleans all waste cans trashcans recycle bins water fountains and doormats.
Assists Maintenance Staff in painting replacement remodeling construction projects and other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Mechanic.
Performs other duties assigned.
ValidClass E Drivers License Required
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
5:00AM 1:30PM (Monday through Friday).
Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs. Some overtime may be required.
Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules building assignments shifts and/or days for operational purposes.
Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.
A Criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.
$16.00 Hourly
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience; or completion of the ninth grade and three years of experience.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma and two 2 years of commercial custodial experience.
Mechanical aptitude and abilities.
