Job Description

Quality Assurance Inspection
Chicago

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

To ensure incoming & outgoing goods as well as intermediate WIPs are inspected and conforms to the orgs Quality standards and requirements. Ensures nonconforming goods are isolated tagged and Held awaiting QA Management disposition.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Online Quality Monitoring at our current co packers w.r.t std. labels Fill weight Product defects

2 Retrieval and Verification of All Certificate of Analysis (COAs) Prior to Unloading at Warehouse

2. Inspection and Sampling of All Inbound Finished Goods WIPs as per Sampling Plan

3. Inspection of All Inbound Components

4. Sampling of All Nonconforming Inbound Loads

5. Documentation of All Nonconforming Inbound Loads

6. Maintain Incoming Sample Log

7. Visual Inspections of All Outbound Orders

8. Maintaining the Quality Hold Program

9. Perform Daily Warehouse Audits to identify/isolate Damaged Goods

10. General Laboratory Cleaning (as needed)

11. Perform Analytical Analysis (pH Conductivity Viscosity Specific. Gravity wt./ml basic titrations)

12. Computer Data Entry for customer KPI reporting

13. Supplier Communication: CoA requests

14. Outgoing Customer Samples Inspection and Packaging

15. Assist in Various Department Functions/Duties

16. Perform Finished Good Product Fill Weight Verifications

17. Frequent travelling to our Co packers

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Takes Leadership from Quality Management
  2. Works closely with QA Technician
  3. Works closely with Operations and Operations Management to ensure product conformance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 3 years minimum of quality inspector experience or equivalent
  2. College Chemistry background
  3. Mathematical Abilities
  4. Good Communication Skills
  5. Good Attendance/Punctuality
  6. Good Decision Making/Troubleshooting Skills
  7. Computer Literate (Microsoft Office knowledge preferred)
  8. Ability to work weekends as required
  9. Sound knowledge of excel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Requires sitting walking bending and standing to a varying degree. It can require the pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
