Position Overview:

Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instructionrelated duties and responsibilities promptly and per the mission policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of the teacher and facilitator of learning. The general schedule for this position is 48 hours a week and the expected wage range is commensurate with credentials and experience.

**Note** Adjunct positions at UCO are parttime teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

The Department of Modern Languages at the University of Central Oklahoma seeks to hire a Modern Language adjunct to teach the Potawatomi language. This course will be offered in Fall 2022. This course will be offered as an online course.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Possesses at least a masters degree or equivalent qualifications in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
  • Possesses excellent communication problemsolving and organizational skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Teaches advises and mentors students evaluates student performance and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university the mission and long term goals of the University. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks.
