EquipmentShare is searching for a Equipment Technical Trainer Pumps & Compressors for our corporate office in Columbia MO to support our team as the department continues to grow.
Salary range: $90k$105k. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate.
Job Summary: Develop coordinate and deliver training programs for service technicians while maintaining comprehensive training records. Act as a role model and subject matter expert ensuring EquipmentShares commitment to cultivating the industrys highest quality service workforce is fulfilled.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform job duties in accordance with EquipmentShares vision mission and values.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal departments & rental/retail markets across the organization.
- Training curriculum development and delivery of structured training programs specific to pumps and compressors including practical workshops and classroom instruction.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure timely training programs assignments and special projects are completed.
- Accurately record and submit attendance and certification data to the appropriate personnel for integration in EquipmentShare University (ESU) EquipmentShares Learning Management System (LMS).
- Communicate training schedules course availability requirements and completion statuses clearly to learners and internal managers.
- Support the promotion of EquipmentShare University and other company training resources to enhance awareness and engagement.
- Monitor communication channels to identify and address employee and branch training needs proactively.
- Acquire and maintain indepth knowledge of all diagnostic tools and equipment available within EquipmentShare.
- Develop highquality training resources tailored to the evolving needs of EquipmentShare branches and technicians.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience designing and delivering structured training programs specific to pumps and compressors including practical workshops and classroom instruction.
- Proficiency in assessing trainee performance and adapting content to address skill gaps.
- Indepth knowledge of the principles of operation for various types of pumps (centrifugal positive displacement etc. and compressors (reciprocating rotary etc..
- Familiarity with system components including seals bearings valves and couplings.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics pressure flow rate and efficiency as they relate to pumps and compressors.
- Ability to diagnose common issues such as cavitation vibration overheating and leaks.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices including lubrication alignment and wear analysis.
- Strong understanding of industry safety standards including OSHA and manufacturerspecific guidelines.
- Ability to incorporate safety protocols into training particularly around handling highpressure systems and hazardous materials.
- Skills in simplifying complex mechanical concepts for diverse audiences including technicians with varying levels of experience.
- Effective use of diagrams schematics and handson demonstrations to enhance learning.
- Familiarity with tools such as vibration analyzers flow meters and pressure gauges.
- Basic knowledge of relevant software or telemetry systems for monitoring pump and compressor performance.
- Commitment to promoting and adhering to safety protocols during all training activities.
- Keeps abreast of new technologies tools and practices in electrical and electronics systems to ensure training content remains relevant and uptodate.
- Competence with virtual training tools including simulators elearning platforms and multimedia presentations.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit various learning levels and technical backgrounds.
- Proficiency in developing both classroom and handson training materials tailored to adult learning principles.
- Comfortable with providing realworld demonstrations guiding trainees through troubleshooting scenarios and facilitating practical learning exercises.
- Skilled in evaluating trainee performance through testing practical assessments and feedback sessions to ensure knowledge retention and skill application.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in a related technical field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in the repair maintenance or operation of pumps compressors or related equipment.
- Certifications in areas related to pumps compressors or industrial equipment maintenance are a plus (e.g. Pump System Assessment API standards).
- Previous experience in a training or instructional role delivering technical training programs for adults.
- Familiarity with industry standards best practices and safety protocols related to pumps and compressors.
- Experience working with heavy construction equipment industrial machinery or similar systems.
- Familiarity with telematics systems and electronic diagnostic tools is an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand walk bend and kneel for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in varying conditions including extreme temperatures noisy settings and around heavy equipment.
- Willingness to travel to training sites and customer locations; valid drivers license required.
