Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual with industry experience and a background in mechanical engineering biomedical engineering chemical engineering bioelectrical engineering or a related field to join our busy patent counseling & prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of law firm experience and substantive industry expertise in chemical engineering or material science. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team on cuttingedge patent prosecution and counseling matters.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedomtooperate analyses.
- Analyze patent and scientific papers to assist patent attorneys in prosecution counseling and litigation.
- Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients on patent strategies and technical issues.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of law firm experience.
- Degree in mechanical engineering biomedical engineering chemical engineering bioelectrical engineering or a related field.
- Industry experience and knowledge across a wide range of disciplines within chemical engineering or material science.
- Strong technical written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Broad scientific knowledge in mechanical engineering and/or biomedical engineering (an advanced degree is a plus).
- Must be a registered US patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.
