Position Summary:
North Greenville University (NGU) is seeking a Graduate Assistant Linebackers Coach to support the football program while pursuing a graduate degree. The GA coach will assist in all aspects of coaching the linebacker unit including player development film analysis practice planning game preparation and recruiting support. This position requires a commitment to the mission and values of North Greenville University which integrates faith and academics with athletics. Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development:
Assist in coaching the linebacker position emphasizing technique fundamentals and defensive schemes.
Support player development through individualized instruction film study and onfield drills.
Provide realtime coaching and feedback during practice and games.
Help implement practice plans aligned with NGUs defensive philosophy.
Track player progress and report development insights to the defensive coordinator.
Game & Practice Preparation:
Break down opponent film and assist in preparing scouting reports on linebackers and offensive tendencies.
Support game planning by analyzing matchups and helping develop defensive strategies.
Create film cutups and presentations for team and positional meetings.
Assist with practice including drill setup script management and scout team coordination.
Help communicate and implement defensive play calls during practice sessions.
Recruiting & Program Support:
Assist in evaluating and recruiting prospective studentathletes who align with NGUs mission and values.
Maintain recruiting databases and develop relationships with high school coaches.
Participate in recruiting visits film evaluations and prospect communications.
Serve as a mentor and role model reinforcing NGUs Christcentered culture and academic expectations.
Administrative & Other Duties:
Ensure compliance with all NCAA Conference Carolinas and NGU regulations.
Promote academic success and character development among studentathletes.
Assist with team logistics including travel planning and player support services.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator.
Bachelors degree required.
Must be admitted to a graduate program at North Greenville University.
Prior playing or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (linebacker experience preferred).
Strong understanding of defensive football concepts linebacker techniques and film analysis.
Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Hudl or other film breakdown software.
Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and travel as needed.
