Datadogs Finance team partners with stakeholders across the organization providing commercial operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadogs business continues its rapid and efficient growth.

We are seeking a dynamic and detailoriented Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to play a key part in a fastpaced highgrowth environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills a solid understanding of accounting principles and a passion for ensuring accurate financial reporting.

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for assisting in the monthend close process performing technical accounting research and preparing related memos supporting external audits support in preparation of external financial statements and assisting with ad hoc projects. You will collaborate crossfunctionally with teams across the company contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and internal controls.

What Youll Do:

  • Own key areas of the monthly quarterly and annual financial close ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Perform analytics over financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they occur in a timely manner
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of the external financial statements and footnotes filed on a quarterly and annual basis 10Q and 10Ks)
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the yearend financial statement audit and quarterly reviews including internal audit and SOX requests
  • Take initiative with recommending and implementing process improvements as appropriate to simplify standardize and streamline efforts
  • Partner with other departments to understand and support business processes ensure proper accounting and resolve reconciling differences
  • Participate in special projects including system implementations process improvements and adhoc financial analyses
  • Assist in researching technical accounting analyzing reporting and documenting issues that affect the company making recommendations for solutions and following through to resolution
  • Provide guidance and training to direct reports to promote team development and growth

Who You Are:

  • 3 years of progressive accounting experience preferably within a public company or Big 4 and hold a BS/BA degree in Accounting
  • CPAcertified (or on track to be certified)
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong technical accounting background with a knowledge of US GAAP SOX 404 and SEC reporting standards
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions and excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Selfmotivated and able to work under pressure consistently meeting deliverables and deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Strong organization and problemsolving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible and analytical with meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with Netsuite FloQast and Workiva
