About Company: Our client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction firm in Nigeria.
The company is looking to hire an experienced Project planner who will be responsible for preparing the detailed project schedule based on widely accepted engineering practices and derives reports on different management hierarchal level. S/he must understand the principles of project planning including the principles of critical path analysis project trend analysis project forecast and materials and equipment planning.
The candidate is expected to work within the project control team to support the project management team in achieving the project schedule. S/He must be open to learning the Company s ERP system for monitoring and tracking materials status among other usage.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and define project goals and objectives.
Develop activity list for new projects.
Monitor and analyse project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.
Recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.
Plan coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures processes and systems.
Educate employees in methods to ensure project continuity and completeness.
Develop detailed task lists and work effort assessment.
Prepare short and longterm resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.
Oversee schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results.
Develop WBS for each activity group and develop a schedule based on the above.
Track all subcontract schedule performance to ensure that subcontractors meet up the approved schedule.
Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.
Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all clients to reassess renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities proposals contracts and budgets.
Alert project management team on when schedule recovery is required and what type of schedule compression tool to use.
Develop a list of activities on the schedule critical path for tracking and reporting.
Provide subcontract schedule of works for tenders
Ensure to convey required project data and information to project teams.
Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management.
Evaluate and analyze with team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.
Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
Utilize the ERP for tracking of materials procurement and reporting on the impact of late procurement on overall schedule.
Gather actual data update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.
Carry out other duties on planning and reporting as may be assigned by the Project Control Manager.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering related field or Applied Science with a minimum of 48 years of relevant experience.
Master s Degree PMISP certification and any other related professional qualification will be an added advantage.
