Biopharmaceutical Development (BPD) group is a multidisciplinary scientific function working with diverse and novel molecular modalities across all therapeutic areas within AstraZeneca. BPD integrates cell biology process science molecular structure & function solution and solidstate chemistry advanced data analytics and engineering to develop industryleading technologies. We are also responsible for transferring the processes to different commercial sites in and outside the AstraZeneca organization.
Our Vision in BPD is to be a recognized leader in CMC development that excels at delivering AZs large and diverse biologics portfolio. Our mission is to be innovative and agile to deliver sustainable processes and products that provide the best patient experience.
BPDs innovative science enables highyielding efficient production for the most challenging and novel biologics as well as delivery of new medicines through design of stable formulations and development of drug delivery systems. With device development BPD is creating products with a patientcentric mindset transforming Research Molecules into new lifechanging Medicines.
