A day in the life
Youll be a senior member of our editorial team and have the newsroom experience to step into most roles. You will be a local news with strong editorial judgment whose multiskilled background means you are equally at ease reporting in the field assigning crews and journalists assembling stories into a rundown editing copy and producing live bulletins.Reporting to the Director of News you will help manage coach and provide guidance to news employees and perform as a member of the news management team.
What youll be doing:
- Help oversee daily news production requirements.
- Produce dynamic news bulletins ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of content.
- Produce news special events.
- Story writing and editing.
- Actively contribute to editorial decisions.
- Cultivate a welcoming inclusive teamoriented culture.
- Assist in evaluating leading and mentoring staff to promote peak performance and efficiency.
- Perform other supervisory and essential functions as assigned.
What youll need:
- A passion for news with a keen eye for the issues that matter to our audience.
- Proven experience as a television news producer with an indepth understanding of the production process.
- Exceptional news judgment combined with strong writing and copyediting skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Experience leading and collaborating with team members and with other news leaders.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
