RN ResidentialNurse PRN
Department:ResidentialLocation:SalinaReports To:Nurse ManagerCreated Date:Dec. 2013FLSA Status:NonExemptRevised Date:Feb. 2021Position SummaryProvides nursing care to substance use disorder patients in detox and residential treatment programs by performing the following duties.Required to work at least 1 hour per month.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures relating to clinical licensure standards.
  • Oversees the medical care of patients detoxing from alcohol and/or other .
  • Administers injections and oral medications following Physicians instructions.
  • Takes and maintains records of vital statistics such as pulse temperature respiration to provide daily information.
  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and reports observations to Program Director and/or Medical Director.
  • Issues medications from dispensary and maintains records in accordance with specified procedures.
  • Provides HIV/AIDS education to staff and patients.
  • Provides general health educations to staff and patients of residential and detox unit.
  • Administers and documents TB Skin testing for staff and patients.
  • Interview patients reviews records and confers with other professionals to evaluate condition of patients.
  • Transports patients off grounds to required appointments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and ExperienceOne year certificate from college or technical school; and three to six months related experience and/or training.Certificates Licenses and Registrations
  • Current valid Kansas Drivers License.
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Licensed by the State of Kansas Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
