Handling tax in such a large sophisticated organization takes more than just a technical understanding of current tax practices. As an Employment Tax Manager we will look to you to lead engagements on a wide range of tax areas and processes devising strategic outcomes to some very complex issues. Your key responsibilities
Youll likely spend much of your time engaging in client consultations and challenging the tax strategy and approach for optimal effectiveness. Well look to you to develop strong relationships with our clients and team effectively with internal resources while developing and coaching junior members of the team. Areas of focus include planning and compliance for mergers; acquisitions and internal reorganizations; audit defense employment tax complex advisory; lookback reviews; payroll process improvement; shortterm business traveller analysis and policy design; and remote work analysis and policy design. Developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Skills and attributes for success
- Demonstrating an understanding of complex global federal and state employment tax concepts and effectively applying your knowledge to client situations
- Experience providing employment tax consulting and unemployment claims administration
- Experience developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas
To qualify for the role you must have
- Abachelors degree with an emphasis in accounting finance or related field and approximately 7 years of related work experience
- Aminimum of 5 years of relevant tax consulting experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
- CPA J.D. or CPP certification (or the ability to obtain certification within the first year of employment)
- Broad exposure to employment taxation
- Excellent managerial organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- MS office background and willingness to travel (up to 50.
Ideally youll also have
- Advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $104100 to $190700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124900 to $216700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and geography. In addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our teamled and leaderenabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external client serving roles to work together in person 4060 of the time over the course of an engagement project or year.
