Summary of Position

We are looking for a highly motivated individual for an intern position in the Drug Product Sciences (DPS) team. This is a handson position in the laboratory focused on understanding the impact of various physical stresses and formulation conditions to drug product primary containers. This position will help the intern develop an understanding of biologics formulation and support DPS in building data repository for selection of primary containers in drug product manufacturing.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

This position will be primarily labbased involving preparation of protein formulations initiating stability studies and analyzing samples utilizing analytical methodologies.

• Simulate various stresses like freeze/thaw autoclaving and vibration and assess the impact on vials containing different formulations.
• Perform physicochemical evaluation using protein concentration pH osmolality visual inspection and subvisible particulates techniques (e.g. light obsuration and MFI) thermal analysis HPLC techniques.
• Responsibilities also include capturing and recording detailed observations of experiments analyzing data and interpreting results maintaining and organizing documentation.
• Present findings concisely and clearly at DPS internal meetings and/or to crossfunctional teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Certifications & Experience

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors degree or higher in Pharmaceutical Sciences Chemistry Biochemistry Chemical Engineering or a related field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of biological molecules and analytical methodologies.
• Must be selfmotivated have strong problemsolving skills and work well in both a team setting and independently.
• Detail oriented have good written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Software Excel Word and PowerPoint.
• General laboratory skills and compliance with lab safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical knowledge and handson experience with biologics formulation development.
• Experience with literature review to guide design of experiments analysis and data interpretation.
• Experience with tools such as JMP Prism Origin Empower Minitab Trios.

Additional Information

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.50. For nonexempt roles and according to applicable regulations there may be the possibility for overtime pay. Eligible intern employees may participate in the 401(k) plan with employer match and may receive the company holiday benefit if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled workday. An intern will accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours of working time. Interns are responsible for their own travel housing and living expenses.

The pay rate range is described in good faith and the Company believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidates experience qualifications geographic location and other factors permitted by law. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned vested and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans. The amount and availability of any bonus commission benefits or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Companys sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Companys sole discretion consistent with the law.
