Job Description

Visas Global Policy team is at the forefront of shaping the future of digital payments. As Senior Manager Strategic Policy Initiatives Global Policy you will play a pivotal role in driving highimpact events partnerships and strategic initiatives that advance Visas policy and business priorities.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director Strategic Policy Initiatives you will work closely with Global Policy team members regional Global Government Engagement teams and crossfunctional business units (e.g. Communications Legal Product Technology).

 

The ideal candidate thrives in fastpaced matrixed environments excels at program management and strategic and has a proven track record of leading highprofile policy events and strategic partnerships. Exceptional judgment executive communication skills and a growth mindset are essential for success in this role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead event operations for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Annual and Spring Meetings (October and April respectively in Washington DC):
    • Establish and run weekly coordination calls
    • Coordinate with the Global Policy teams external Advisory Council
    • Own the overall event schedule (calendar invites daily agenda) timeline development and staffing plan
    • Manage briefing memo templates and briefing book assembly
    • Provide operational support for side events (compliance and logistics)
    • Manage car schedules task and engagement tracking and postevent debriefs with success metrics
  • Serve as Global Policys primary resource for event management: Manage Global Policys global engagement calendar and ensure compliance and operational excellence across all engagements.
  • Strengthen Global Policys strategic partnerships: Manage Global Policys overall strategic partnership plan with think tanks trade associations and global policy organizations. Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with business objectives. Establish regular checkins with internal stakeholders to evaluate partnership effectiveness. Conduct audits to ensure maximum impact and return on investment for annual planning.
  • Maximize the impact of Global Policys NonResident Senior Fellows consultants who advise the Global Policy team. Proactively identify opportunities for Global Policy team members and other Visa teams to engage Fellows expertise to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Support Global Policys Advisory Council: Partner with the Director Strategic Policy Initiatives to execute the Advisory Council strategy. Support the Director in proactively identifying ways to maximize the Advisory Councils impact by strengthening connections with Visas executives.
  • Maintain and Optimize Visas Policy Position Repository: Update and manage this internal resource ensuring Global Government Engagement teams have the latest insights and messaging on key policy issues.  

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD or 11 years of work experience without a degree.

Required Qualifications:

Experience working with Csuite executives and senior government leaders
Event Strategy & Operations Expertise Proven experience leading highprofile policy events preferably IMF and World Bank Annual & Spring Meetings or similar global engagements.
Strategic Partnerships Leadership Strong track record of managing partnerships between private sector think tanks and global policy organizations.
Consultant & Stakeholder Management Experience working with or managing external advisors fellows or consultants.
Executive Communication & Influence Exceptional intercultural interpersonal written and verbal communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear concise messaging for Csuite executives and policymakers.
High Judgment & ProblemSolving Skills Ability to distill signal from noise prioritize effectively and make strategic decisions in fastmoving environments.
Project & Program Management Excellence Strong ability to orchestrate complex global initiatives manage competing priorities and align crossfunctional stakeholders.
Systems Thinking & RootCause Analysis Proactively identify root causes of challenges and implement scalable solutions. Proactively scan the environment and connect the dots across various levels. Ability to seamlessly transition from a highlevel strategic perspective to handson tactical .

Preferred Qualifications:

8 years of professional experience ideally in government affairs public policy or strategic partnerships within the private sector.
Strong understanding of payments financial technology and emerging regulatory trends.
Experience working in a matrixed global organization with diverse crossfunctional teams.
Familiarity with Visas business strategy and product offerings.


Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 510 of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143200 to 230900 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on jobrelated factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
