We are seeking a skilled QA Tester with expertise in Ubuntu to join our team. This role will involve manual and automated testing identifying and reporting issues ensuring the quality of software on Ubuntubased environments and handling support tickets to ensure timely resolution of userreported issues.
Responsibilities:
Test Planning & : Develop and execute test cases for Ubuntubased applications and systems.
Bug Tracking: Identify document and track defects using tools like JIRA.
Support Ticket Handling: Manage and respond to support tickets related to application defects or system issues. Prioritize and escalate tickets as needed ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Environment Setup: Configure and maintain Ubuntu test environments.
Automation: Write and maintain test scripts.
Collaboration: Work with developers to resolve issues and ensure software quality.
Documentation: Maintain clear test documentation and reports.
Qualifications :
Educational qualification:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience :
34 years of QA experience with at least 1 year focused on Ubuntu/Linux systems.
Prior experience in handling support tickets and resolving userreported issues.
Mandatory/requires Skills :
Experience with Ubuntu (desktop/server) and Linux system administration.
Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing methods.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Bash Python).
Familiarity with testing tools (e.g. Jenkins Molecule Pytest).
Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence).
Strong problemsolving and communication skills.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and users.
Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with quality assurance automated testing.
Familiarity with customer support ticketing systems (e.g. Zendesk Freshdesk).
