Job Description
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Mt. Sterling IL or Chesterfield MO (onsite)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director of Data & AI
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide a team of data engineers ensuring successful completion of data pipeline projects.
- Automate data extraction transformation and loading from various sources (flat files databases APIs message queues and more).
- Own and execute complex data projects ensuring alignment with business needs and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting analytics.
- Leverage various technologies scripting and programming languages to build robust data solutions.
- Assist in the development deployment and maintenance of machine learning and artificial intelligence data pipelines.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree.
- 4 years of handson experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in IBM DataStage or an equivalent data integration tool.
- Experience developing deploying and maintaining data pipelines in Python.
- 2 years of experience in hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong problemsolving abilities with a strategic approach to coding and data orchestration.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Business Analytics Computer Science Mathematics Statistics or related field.
- IBM Data Engineer certification.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
