POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Ontario Laboratory Supervisor the Lab Technician assists the Research and Development Engineer and team by working on quality control as well as research and development projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for quality control testing of plant production at the designated plant including: verifying samples testing products and reporting the results
- Ensure all nonconforming results are reported to the R&D Engineer or the lab supervisor
- Responsible for performing laboratory tests for research and development projects for R&D and communicating the test results
- Order supplies for the lab and maintain lab equipment
- Perform tests for Operations with a goal of improving plant efficiency and reworking nonconforming product
- Support the Sales team by reporting test results to the Technical Sales Representatives and Managers
- Report technical results from job site data collected by the sales team
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Civil Engineering Technology or Technologist Diploma Chemical Engineering Technology or Technologist Diploma also applicable
- Relevant laboratory work experience considered an asset
- Experience performing standard concrete quality tests considered an asset
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in English required
- Experience using Microsoft Office Outlook Excel and the able to learn new software
- Understanding of concrete technology
- Attention to detail
- Works well independently and without direct supervision
